EXPEDITION: GREENLAND

Climate change is transforming the glaciers of Greenland.  To measure those changes in hyper-detail, a team from the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) installed a LIDAR-monitoring system on a remote glacier in Eastern Greenland.  The site is accessible only by helicopter and has to be powered by off-the-grid technologies of wind and solar.
